the move belch isn't in the damage calculator at all (was fooling around with salazzle and it's not there)
Bugs: There are no base power 150 with one turn recharge moves like Roar of Time, Frenzy Plant etc in the calculator. Also when calculating ORAS, Parental Bond and Aerilate are nerfed as Gen 7.
Surge Surfer is not taken into account when calculating base damage (based on speed) with Electro Ball
So, I was doing some calcs for my DUbers team and I encountered an error with Z-Bolt Strike where it shows an Undefined BP. I got curious and started checking around, and I discovered the same issue with Light of Ruin and Storm Throw. Not huge problems, but I figured I'd let you know.
This has been an issue for calcs since gen 5 but I figured I'd ask again. What's going on with Expert Belt and single type items? The boost should be the same but they always give different results. The stronger item isn't always consistent either. Check out these Heat Wave calcs vs the same Metagross. Heatran deals more damage using Charcoal, while Chandelure does more with Expert Belt. What's the deal? 252+ SpA Expert Belt Heatran Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Metagross: 175-209 (93.5 - 111.7%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO (175, 175, 180, 182, 182, 187, 187, 190, 190, 194, 197, 197, 202, 202, 204, 209) 252+ SpA Charcoal Heatran Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Metagross: 176-210 (94.1 - 112.2%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO (176, 180, 180, 182, 186, 188, 188, 192, 194, 194, 198, 200, 200, 204, 206, 210) 252+ SpA Expert Belt Chandelure Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Metagross: 190-226 (101.6 - 120.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO (190, 194, 194, 197, 202, 202, 204, 204, 209, 211, 211, 216, 218, 218, 223, 226) 252+ SpA Charcoal Chandelure Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Metagross: 188-224 (100.5 - 119.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO (188, 192, 194, 198, 198, 200, 204, 206, 206, 210, 212, 216, 216, 218, 222, 224)
Expert Belt is a final modifier, while items like Charcoal are base power modifiers; essentially, they factor in at different points in damage calculation. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uJtdnOTtM6b0uu7bNkRHhmvNvxgHrtQ4mSXgimJ1_P0/edit
Gonna start implementing some of these fixes soon. Sorry I've been way busy lately and I've got a lot of different projects demanding my time. I also expect to start documenting changelogs in future updates to make this better organized.
Try refreshing and see if you get the same result - I just recreated your screenshot and Iron Head is dealing normal damage for me. Whatever happened also increased the damage from Smart Strike too. Edit: it looks like that damage would be expected if Iron Head and Smart Strike were Z-moves, though your screenshot clearly shows it was regular attacks.
Not sure if this is the proper place to report, I've found a glitch in the survival calculator. Apparently, grassy terrain is not working or affecting calcs in any way.
When you use bullet punch with scizor on celesteela, the calculator doesn't take bullet punch as steel move, and therefore the damage isn't calculated as a resistance.
There are no Freeze Shock, Ice Burn, Hyperspace Fury, Hyperspace Hole and Petal Blizzard in the calculator, also Lunala's Shadow Shield is somehow negated by opposing Lunala's Moongeist Beam
The last isn't a bug; Moongeist Beam and Sunsteel Strike have Mold Breaker-esque effects where they ignore the Abilities of the opponent when used.
Most of these have been fixed by now. (Check out https://github.com/jake-white/VGC-Damage-Calculator/releases for changelogs)
"Unlike Multiscale, Shadow Shield is unaffected by Mold Breaker, Teravolt, and Turboblaze. In addition, Moongeist Beam and Sunsteel Strike do not ignore Shadow Shield" ---------Bulbapedia https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Shadow_Shield_(Ability)
Reporting a bug with Figy berry recovery: 252+ Atk Snorlax Return vs. 204 HP / 100+ Def Tapu Fini: 64-76 (37.4 - 44.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Figy Berry recovery
